Life Lately | Meet Carolina

Well, hello. It’s been quite sometime since I’ve posted on here. To be honest, I hate saying that too. Some people believe blogs are dead but I love reading them and more importantly I love this little space of the internet that’s just mine. I love being able to connect with you guys 1:1 that’s off social media. So it feels really good to be here with you.

This year mainly because of my pregnancy and all the sickness, I’ve taken a huge break from social media. I think I took 6 full months off and have only posted here and there since June and it was really refreshing. In many ways I miss sharing and creating content but it was also really nice to take a step back.

I just have to say, as I write this, at 8:00 pm on Saturday night, I am writing and feeling so inspired and also wondering if I make any sense because I am exhausted. Lol. Not really because we have a 2 week old; it’s because I thought it would be a good idea to stay up until midnight watching the new episode of The Challenge with Todd and barely slept. So hopefully this diet coke helps get me through until the next feeding.

Ok, enough about all that…I am so excited to share that our little Carolina Anne is officially here. We seriously couldn’t be more in love. The last 2 weeks have been so amazing. She’s been the easiest and most snuggly baby ever and the ease of knowing what to expect has helped so much navigate these early weeks. I must say, sleep hasn’t really been awful or maybe we just know it’s a phase and we will sleep again. I’ll do a separate birth story and share more about my pregnancy but until then I’ll share some more behind-the-scenes on my Insta stories.

Carolina (pronounced like the state) has been a little angel since she was born. She came out and was immediately ready to nurse which was amazing but also those early days are painful until you get a good latch down. For the first time I had cracked nipples and bleeding from her swallow latch. I’ve never experienced that before but heard horror stories in the past and wowwww does it hurt but we made it through! It certainly took a solid two weeks for us to get the hang of things but its been pretty smooth sailing since and we have def hit our stride.

Banks and Ramsey absolutely love her and always want to hold her or snuggle with her when they can. I’m somewhat surprised to say this but the transition to 3 has been really smooth. They have been so amazing and it’s been really helpful to have family around to take them to do special things even if its just a walk around the neighborhood to get out of the house. Living closer to family this time around has been incredible and I credit that to a lot to how easy this recovery and postpartum time has been.

Well, it’s time to feed little Carolina so I have to end this here but I will be back…I promise!

Chat again soon,
B
