My Breastfeeding Faves

My Breastfeeding Faves | Brittany Collier
  • Spectra S1 Breast Pump is my fave pump. Well technically the Spectra pumps are the only ones I’ve used but I decided to get the S1 this time so I didn’t have to be attached to the wall. This pump has a 3 hour battery life which will last me days since I rarely pump now (12 weeks in) but I pumped a lot in the beginning.

  • I’ve tried all types of nursing bras but the material would gross me out. It’s the summer, huge boobs…if you get my drift. I found these cotton ones and they are SO MUCH BETTER! They keep me cool and I don’t feel gross in them.

  • Breastmilk bags are a must if you plan to pump at all or build a freezer stash. Once you put your milk in the bags and date / time stamp them and add the ounces, lay them flat in your freezer so they will be easier to store.

  • A water tumbler with ice cold water will be your bestie. You will get SO THIRSTY nursing so you need to have one next to you at all times. Plus breastmilk is basically made up of water so you need it to keep your milk supply up anyways! I found this one on Amazon and its super affordable and works like a charm!

  • Everyone told me to get a haaka after I was done nursing B so obvi I had to try it. I think it’s pretty amazing. I will be honest, I really only use it in the morning when my supply is the highest but I will suction during the first feed to collect my let down otherwise my shirt will be soaked lol. I def think it’s worth trying if you plan to breastfeed.

  • Nipple butter is something you will want to ask the nurse for at the hospital and use religiously those first few weeks or even longer to make sure you don’t get cracked nips. I was lucky I didn’t have any issues this time but with B my nips hurt so much because I didn’t use this consistently. I started immediately with R and it saved me!
