Let’s Catch Up

Grab some coffee and let’s catch up, shall we?! It’s Sunday morning, we survived the breakfast rush over here and while CC (what we are calling Carolina these days) is sleeping, I’m having B and R watch a show so I can clean and come chat with you!

I haven’t been on social media in a minute (story of my life the last couple of years). Honestly, I’m just not feeling Insta lately (or since really 2021). You guys know I took a HUGE break last year when I was pregnant — partly because I wasn’t feeling great and partly because I just don’t like sharing on Insta; it’s just not fun anymore. I know a lot of you feel this way too. I’ve debated for a few years now to start a new one and get some fresh energy but I think it’s not so much my account than it is the platform itself. I fought joining TikTok for a long time and I finally did earlier this year and let me tell you, it’s nothing like I expected. It’s so much more fun, relaxed and has me excited about creating content on social media again.

With that being said, I still struggle with what I feel comfortable with these days. I used to share a little more of the kids but honestly, I just don’t feel super comfortable with that anymore. Especially with having a public page and all the creeps, haters, and opinions people have on how to raise your kids. Also, privacy is a huge factor too. I feel like when we had B in 2018, mommy bloggers was still a big thing and you saw a lot more of that online. While there are still a ton of family bloggers / vloggers out there, I do see more people making the decision to not show their kids faces and not share as much of their personal life. So I’m trying to figure out the balance of that right now.

On another note, I can’t believe C is already 5 months! I feel like with each baby, things go by so much faster. She’s been rolling for a while now but we can tell she’s starting to get interested in food and trying to grab our food so that will be fun once we start that around 6 months. I need to remember what we did for the kids and what baby led weaning foods we started with but the kids are really excited to have her eating with them! They are still concerned she doesn’t have any teeth yet (lol) but the biting while nursing has started (cringe) and all the teething signs so it’s only a matter of time.

I’m going to do a separate blog post and/or TikTok on this but the chokehold that the Chobani sweet cream creamer has on me with a dash of cinnamon is chef’s kiss. I’ve been really focused on eating breakfast before coffee which was a struggle for me since I’m not a breakfast eater but when I was pregnant with C I really worked hard on that and I delay my coffee for about 2 hours after I wake up which is easy most days because the mornings are crazy and fly by but it does help with the caffeine crash later!

Speaking of…it’s 9:30 am and time for some coffee while everyone is still being quiet! This was fun…I need to do more of just a morning stream of thoughts with you.

Chat soon,
B
