MY DREAM WEDDING: BRIDESMAID EDITION

When I got engaged the first thing I absolutely knew I wanted was blush, long chiffon bridesmaid dresses. I always wanted a neutral wedding so I knew blush would be the perfect color to compliment our wedding scheme. After a lot of customer service calls to J. Crew, I was devastated, yes devastated to find out that they discounted soft peach...sigh...which meant the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dress was on!

I knew I wanted to buy an "off the rack" type dress. I didn't want my girls to have to buy their dress from a "bridal boutique" and I wanted to be sure they could order the dress online for convenience. Fast forward a few weeks where I found the p-e-r-f-e-c-t bridesmaid dress (for my wedding).

Introducing a blush...Monique Lhuillier dress! We styled the dress with these dainty earrings which were a perfect yet subtle touch to complete the look. The girls were barefoot for the ceremony (on the beach) and wore gold sandals for the reception.

How ahhhhhhhmazing is this dress!! It was necessary for the girls to have a long dress as those of you who have been to a beach wedding you will know the wind blows all-the-time. I didn't want my girls to worry about walking down the aisle thinking they will flash my guests!!

TIPS

Depending on how much input you want from your bridesmaids :) here are some suggestions on how to pick your dresses/hair/makeup.

1. Picking out bridesmaid dresses is so fun! First get an idea of what you want, be sure it's what YOU want. Make appointments (very important) at all the places you know they sell your favorite designer/dress then plan a whole day for your girls to try on dresses.

2.  Plan a bridesmaid brunch/lunch as a nice treat for your girls for trying on all the dresses.

3. Create a private Pinterest board for your girls to add their favorite hairstyles for everyone to see. This will give everyone a voice on how they want their hair. I felt strongly that all my girls have the same hairstyle even though they had all different length hair.
Stay tuned for another post all about my hair/makeup and my girls!

3. Etsy is the perfect place to find reasonably priced jewelry for all your girls.

4. Depending on the type of ceremony will depend on what shoes you want them to wear. Since we were on the beach with no shoes, I asked the girls to wear gold (to match the wedding theme) sandals of their choice. Sometimes Bride's will purchase the shoes for the girls but that's all up to you!

Hope this helps! Send me links to your wedding pictures or dresses that you are considering for your bridesmaids! I would love to see! :)
